Over the past year, I've had the sincere pleasure of working with the Humane Society of the United States doing design work on outreach campaigns, quarterly and annual reports, and educational materials.
My most recent project with them involved designing the slides for Matt Prescott's TEDx talk in which he argues against the environmental inefficiencies of a meat-based diet in favor of a vegan one.
For this project, I read through Matt's script and worked with him to create graphics and slides that enhanced his message without distracting from his presentation. Many of the photos of animals and agriculture were found on
One of the messages in Matt's talk was about the massive amount of water used in the production of just one breakfast sandwich. To illustrate this idea I cooked and photographed the ingredients in a (vegan) breakfast sandwich in four layers to break down the water data for each ingredient [see minute 1:26].
