Hi! I'm a designer specializing in communication design, information design, and branding. Before going freelance, I was an in-house designer with Random House, Art Director of BuzzFeed, Director of Design of Wieden+Kennedy Sharp Stuff, and Art Director of Giada de Laurentiis' Digital Weekly Magazine.
I have also taught as an adjunct professor at my alma mater, Portland State University, since 2013. Classes I teach focus on typography and layout, packaging, branding, and information design.
My clients include the Humane Society of the United States, the University of Washington, Mississippi Studios, Rizzoli Books, Abrams, Penguin Random House, Stewart, Tabori & Chang, Prestel Publishing, Hachette Book Group, Houghton Mifflin, Sterling, Grand Central Books, Flatiron Books, Quarto Publishing, Ten Speed Press, and Timber Press.
Books I've designed have made The New York Times Best Seller's List and my work has been seen on BuzzFeed, Gothamist, The Huffington Post, Newsweek, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, PSFK, and Swiss Miss.
places I've lived & worked
I'm a 4th generation Oregonian living on six acres of trees just outside Portland, OR with my fiancé Nathan, our dog Larry, and an ever-changing number of stray cats and vintage cars. I'm open, adventurous, creative, and am always up for collaborating on projects, hosting/attending dinner parties, riding dirt bikes/motorcycles, doing Barre3, and hiking to waterfalls.
